21 Dec., 2010 -- Another cloudy day on the prairie

This guy was sitting on a neighborhood lawn, waiting for his night to go to work.

 A very nice city park!

Everything... and I mean everything... has this name on it. Buildings, streets, gas stations, hotels; It has to do with Bartlesville's major industry.

Local Bartlesville airport still has that hill behind it.

Now, THAT'S a KEYBOARD! Mac or PC?
We grandparents discussed this a few days ago... should we get one of these for LAD? (Not the trumpet)

Ipod and I-tunes, eat your heart out! Don't ya just love those old record players...

Well, some things hardly ever change. If you don't know what this is for, don't ask.

I remember my dad using one of these! Hey, I can still remember!

I shot some photos today, although I wore a different hat.
Hooray for digital.
Geocaching on Wesleyan College Campus, it's very pretty.

 Park bench, tiled, very ornate.
Yes, there is a cache in the center of this picture. Nice camouflage, it took me about a half hour to spot it.
Left a scorpion to keep these two buddies company.

20 Dec., 2010 -- On the sky road again

In Bartlesville, OK. Shot pictures yesterday, today it's too cloudy to go anywhere. I braved the "we all shop there" place, went geocaching and found a couple of them with my BB. It sure works better than the glitchy Android that I had.

16 Dec., 2010 -- Snoop in the grass

I know I can fly, if I can just find my way out of this stuff.

Well, maybe I'll just go ice skating.

Well, shucks.

13 Dec., 2010 -- We got wind and window flowers

We got wind and frost. However, Iowa was blessed with that good old real stuff!
Our turn will come. But this time, the double paned insulated windows kept most of it out, except for the cold wind that came through the electrical outlets and the vent over the stove. Forty mile an hour wind just goes where it wants!

It's getting closer... Christmas cactus is almost ready to bloom. A receptionist at St. John's Clinic in Springfield unloaded her office-patient donations on me back in February, how could I deny, since her office is in the basement of the building, no windows (like Fonda's office in Ames). When it bursts forth I will deliver it back to her for awhile! And from Arkansas, and just to defy the cold season, Juanita's jewel orchid is about to pop, too.

11 Dec., 2010 -- Happy Birthday, LAD # 5

LAD, you haven't changed much since 2009. Well, maybe just a little bit!

Happy birthday... isn't it great to be 5 years old?

27 Nov., 2010 -- Sneak in the grass

Neighbor cat slinking through the pasture... Love the eye liner!

These guys weren't sneaking... they were flat outright get-outta-my-way movin' on.
They stirred up several meadowlarks, and flagged traffic to a near halt. No antlers. Might have been ladies heading for after-Thanksgiving sales!

25 Nov., 2010 -- Thanksgiving breakfast

Yes, it's me! Notice that the burners are lit, too!

Actually, Grant did the pancakes.

Cam, Samantha, Dev & Grampa A enjoyed fresh blueberries.

They all scooted for home before the sleet-snow-freezing rain got serious.

22 Nov., 2010 -- Shuffle, work, dig with the big dogs

Randy and LAD showed up to help Lloyd work on the planes, shuffle them from one hangar to another.

The yellow one's running, the blue one's not. There's that prop again, this time shot with a Blackberry. I gave up on the glitchy Samsung Android after fighting with two of them, and went back to the BB. (Those two phones were haunted, had gremlins doing things all by themselves, didn't need a human to push buttons).

Lad got a ride, at least a taxi ride, when Dad tested out the engine on the Archer.

Working with the big dogs! Checking for bugs and mice.

Hauled some gravel to the potholes in the driveway. Work just never ends around here! Well, sometimes we do a puzzle for fun.

First sign of winter... line of thunderstorms moved through tonight, and it's a good thing the temperature was 50 degrees, or these little pellets might have been golf balls! Lasted about 5 minutes, like a bucket dump.

ET

ET welcomed me home!

Learning curve! We needed a new clothes dryer. While I played in Vegas, Lloyd went on a shopping spree. Took him 3 days; installed washer, uninstalled washer to get dryer into the small room; then vent had to go through the wall into kitchen cupboard to get to the floor, and that pile of stuff is still on the cabinet awaiting relocation.

So before unpacking, there is a 30 page manual. (Can't ya just throw in the soap & clothes and turn the dial & push "go"? No) And it takes high energy soap... What...

And it was 40 degrees in Branson when I landed, and it was 26 degrees last night, and...

I miss Las Vegas!
