1 Nov., 2008 -- Flying stuff!

I've had complaints that there are not enough FT or FS on the blog lately.
(Flying Things, Flying Stuff)

Phyllis shot this with her cell phone!
That's Jerry upside down, in case you don't recognize the airplane.

30 Oct., 2008 -- DUM dum DUM dum DUM dum

LOOK OUT! Walk out here.... come on.... a little closer.... Gotcha!
One of these days, perhaps on Halloween, the vines will reach out and grab your leg!

And if you really use your imagination, you can almost see new grass growing on the airport.

Well, ok, you really can! It's there, finally coming up through the straw mulch, even after a couple of nights of frost.

29 Oct., 2008 -- Parts left over!

I finally cleaned off the table and hooked up the pc. Well, there are cables left over!
However, I haven't hooked up any of the three printers, or the internet cable, or the
external hard drives, or the video capture box, or... The matte surface monitor seems so
blah because I'm used to the shiny reflective laptop screen. And stepping back to XP is
strange, I've gotten used to that beast Vista. sigh. Such troubles.

28 Oct., 2008 -- Isn't this great?

On the drive from Springfield this afternoon, I stopped at a construction company site
west of Fordland and complimented them on their HUGE flag. The workers said lots of other
people had stopped and said it was great, too.

Against the clear blue sky, with the fall yellow leaves, it is so striking and made me
feel so proud to be an American, and thankful that we live so free.

Another thankful thing, that big negative sign on the genetics test! This means that my
kids and their kids, and probably my sister's kids and their kids, are not going to
inherit abnormal genes that cause breast cancer and ovarian cancer, at least from our side
of the family tree. It doesn't cancel out environmental causes, though, or the paternal
family tree. But it is quite a relief from that worry.

27 Oct., 2008 -- It's not Spring any more

27 Oct. --------------------------------- 30 May

Frosted last night, and will be a hard freeze tonight. It's later than the normal freeze date of 15 Oct. The persimmon shows a spoon. Does that mean snow shoveling all winter?
So the flower garden is gradually reverting to it's spring-like condition, just have to dig up the elephant ear bulbs for winter storage.
I'm off to Springfield again tomorrow for results of the genetics test, hoping for negative report.

26 Oct., 2008 -- Got Gas?

Here's something we haven't seen in a long time!

25th In Iowa

At first, I didn't think I had taken very many pictures, wrong. Here are only 36, 35 are mine, one is Randy's.

Breakfast before the boys went to the airport to hang out with the Guys.

Zoe playing in LAD's car bucket.

The cats have been allowed milk rings again, now that LAD is old enough not to try to eat them. Both cats love playing with them and they eventually end up under the refrigerator.

For some reason Thomas needed kisses before they left the house. LAD had to kiss him first, then I was allowed to.

Into the Jelly Bean, as it's called.

Harry, this is normal position for him.

Zoe, playing with anything she can get, she loves LAD's toys! He's not so crazy about her playing with them though. He didn't like it at all when she was playing in his car bucket.

Desk clutter. Picked up these leaves last weekend to scan and finally got it done. Notice the colorful play-doh meatballs. They are really dried out and I think they are beyond reconstitution with a little water!

New stuff from the SB store...

New project in progress...

Helping "Eith" (Keith, but LAD was saying Eith) shuffle airplanes.

Boys home, time for lunch.

My lunch.

His lunch.

Word World.

For Halloween, LAD is going to be Bob The Builder. He has the hard hat, overalls and tools, but no tool belt...So we made one. He was fascinated by the sewing machine. I only took this photo because this machine (a Singer knock-off) is a bitch to re-thread and he was threatening pulling the thread spool from the top of the machine. Now I have a permanent reminder!

After sewing on the velcro, in back. Used brown vinyl. It sews OK, but the velcro is a challenge!

4:00 nap. Notice discarded tools and belt!

continuing work in progress.

After supper, I went to work on my project more and this is what I found. Seat warmer. So she became the object of my camera obsession for the moment.

View from the floor, where I ended up sitting, since she was hogging the chair.

We share.
