16 May, 2009 -- Rained again last night

Airplane landed today... emergency, just happened to be over the airport when he lost a valve. Been there, done that! So now the guys have a new project.

This afternoon, mucked out more of the darkroom... wet boxes, wet floor, wet everything.

Used my large 24x30 darkroom trays that haven't been used in about 8 years. They are catching drips from the ceiling. Got a dehumidifier set up, hopefully pull the moisture out of my old teacher's desk.

14th & 15th May, 2009 -- Cam's concert, Ralph's award

Cameron at the Yamaha on the 14th. He soloed "Malaguena" at Cedar Hill Elementary School in Jefferson City. He designed the cover for his personal music cd. That's a king's crown, and a music stand, and very long piano fingers!

The Peanut Gallery... Grant, Sam, Devon, friend Jack, and Kelly. Friend Chuck was at the other end of the row getting pictures from another perspective.

Cameron signs the program... it might someday be valuable!

Ralph received an award for English improvement, at the same time as Cam's concert. Ralph goes to Simonsen Middle School.
Sure was a nice sunset as we walked home from Cam's school.
It's only about 6 blocks, uphill both ways.

And today, this little fellow (well, he isn't so little) was waiting on the patio chair for us to come home. Tree frog, I thought at first that it was a leaf stuck there.

Grant and Cameron bicycling to school this morning. Uphill both ways.

14 May, 2009 -- Midnight storm

Tornado warnings tonight, we rode it out in the motor home in the garage. It went around us again. No strikes close to us, mostly in Douglas County about 5 miles south, and some overhead.

13 May, 2009 -- Magic show, blueberries, you name it

Breakfast on Monday morning. Tyler put on a magic show!

Fonda and Jan inspecting the craftsy stuff that Fonda brought home from NC.

LAD taking pics of Daddy & G'pa working.

I jumped in with Ben in the luscombe on Monday and got some aerials of May 8 wind damage.

Don & John. Trying to fly?

Finally finished planting the blueberries. Dig dig dig... I shouldn't have let the clay soil sit there around the holes so long. It was becoming permanent! Those little sprouts didn't have many roots, they might not make it. Maybe they will someday become big like the other blueberry plants. Planted the rest of my tomato seedlings. Ran out of potting soil just when I finished!

LAD wasn't going to be left behind when Mommy packed on the 11th. They didn't leave until the 12th, though.

10th - Mother's Day... Fonda had a surprise, so did I. Wearable bug from Grant & Devon & Sam & Cam & Ralph & Kelly. Sudoku puzzles & a little cookbook featuring beer bbq recipes. Roses from the "other Sam".

Fonda's Mother's Day... Roses, and flower gifts from LAD that he picked out himself. "Mama likes pink flowers!"

Little poinsettia is still putting out red leaves. And the flower garden's doing well, too.

Orchid doing well in west window. Tiny little bird shapes clustered on long stem,
have no fragrance at all, but surely are pretty, and they last for a week or more.

Juanita's night blooming cereus was her M-day surprise in the greenhouse.
I can smell it from here... it's very very fragrant! Bloom only lasts one night.

12 May, 2009 -- Another long day

Mowed the grass, after Fonda and LAD and cats left for Iowa. Planted two blueberry bushes, two tomato plants, dug out some errant grass, then went out for supper. Wind wind wind. Another good sunset, even a tiny rainbow.

11 May, 2009 -- Flying things; other things, too

Finish this tomorrow. The blog site folded up on me, and
I'm too tired to recreate it all tonight.
