7 Jan., 2011 -- Images

UFO? Rocketman? You tell me. First What's-it for 2011.

Joyce has a month-long photography show at the Obelisk Home Art Gallery in Springfield, featuring her images of the vineyard. Wow!

Is that another UFO, or is it really Black Bart?
John braved the wind yesterday, then sort of wished he hadn't after he did.
Better yesterday (26mph) than today (34mph)!

1 Jan., 2011 -- one one, two o one one

Snoop bobblehead waded around in the driveway, tried to keep up
with Snoop the seaplane pilot (they are just not very bright fellows).
Hey, fellas... it's January!

And it's January... a long long time ago. One one, onenineninethree.

30 Dec., 2010 -- Happy Birthday Val

Happy Birthday, VLA

What did you do with your shoe??? Kick a cow and lose it??? Naaa, you'd never do that!

27 Dec., 2010 -- Told you I'd be in Kansas

Found a geocache just before dark, it's only a couple of miles
from MO to Pittsburg. Shot pics all day, and will go again tomorrow,
unless it clouds up, which it might.

Pittsburg's main street is almost as good a light show as Las Vegas!

26 Dec., 2010 -- A little snow, a little ice

A little snow, a little ice, a little cold... hey, it's winter and almost a new year.
Little tiny icicles on the bamboo made sparklies in the setting sun..

Tomorrow is Monday, and it's back to the office. Kansas, we'll be in Kansas, me 'n my office.

Snoopy got out the cross country skiis, but there wasn't enough
snow to go anywhere. So he just sat in the driveway and dreamed.
Winter's not over... give it time.

25 Dec., 2010 -- Merry Santa Clause, y'all !

Christmas banquet.

Jewel orchid

The setup...

The setup for taking close-ups. Three tele-extenders for the auto-focus lens.
Or just use the old 50mm macro lens (on the right) and use manual settings.
Throw in a toolbox fluorescent light, a can of mixed nuts, butter containers and a loaf of bread.
That's all it takes!

Speaking of toolboxes, what's in yours? Here's mine.

Oh, here's the tools!

Our little bit of winter, so far, in the Ozarks.

24 Dec., 2010 -- Merry Christmas, y'all

Hope everybody enjoys Christmas Eve.
We have a skiff of ice on the ground, just
enough to call it a White Christmas. Neighbor
Inda brought us fresh fruit and canned applesauce
(I don't think that's red plum!)

The Christmas cactus popped out just in time, but the jewel orchid
didn't quite make it. Maybe in the morning.

21 Dec., 2010 -- Another cloudy day on the prairie

This guy was sitting on a neighborhood lawn, waiting for his night to go to work.

 A very nice city park!

Everything... and I mean everything... has this name on it. Buildings, streets, gas stations, hotels; It has to do with Bartlesville's major industry.

Local Bartlesville airport still has that hill behind it.

Now, THAT'S a KEYBOARD! Mac or PC?
We grandparents discussed this a few days ago... should we get one of these for LAD? (Not the trumpet)

Ipod and I-tunes, eat your heart out! Don't ya just love those old record players...

Well, some things hardly ever change. If you don't know what this is for, don't ask.

I remember my dad using one of these! Hey, I can still remember!

I shot some photos today, although I wore a different hat.
Hooray for digital.
Geocaching on Wesleyan College Campus, it's very pretty.

 Park bench, tiled, very ornate.
Yes, there is a cache in the center of this picture. Nice camouflage, it took me about a half hour to spot it.
Left a scorpion to keep these two buddies company.
