18 August, 2011 -- Perfect

It was a perfect shower.
The sun was shining, the rain noisily splattered on the metal roof,
and the rainbow spanned the blue afternoon sky off to the east.

Almost perfect. Keep in mind that on the first night of bowling, you don't want to bowl too well, because you're setting an average that you need to maintain the rest of the season.

Well, HP bowled an all-time
high game to start off the night. Ok, not perfect, but he's happy. Got to keep it up, now.

7 August, 2011 -- Knocked out the power

Big storm, big wind, big lights. Knocked down trees, knocked out power
all over south central MO., brought welcome rains.

31 July, 2011 -- Homeward bound

Heading back to Iowa, with a stop in Marshall to see G'pa Airplane.
This bus won't get us home!

29 July, 2011 -- It's our job

Airport duty, it's our job. Gotta put up a new windsock
so the airplanes can see which way the wind is blowing.

Get the old windsock ready for its job, if the new one wears out.
Mom's still in Raleigh,
heading for home tonight. We'll be ready!

LAD drove the truck down in the field to find a geocache.

24 July, 2011 -- Shorter and shorter

We have the sharpest, shortest pencils of any airport.

I moved the pencil sharpener down to his level, for a morning activity.
After mounting the U.S. map on the office wall, LAD placed markers of Mom's flight that began at 6 this morning at Springfield with a stopover in Atlanta. We forgot to update it this afternoon at her final destination. That will give us something to do in the morning. And we will put a couple up in Iowa for Dad, and in Marshall for G'pa Airplane.

22 July, 2011 -- Go, go, go

You go that way. No, I'll go that way. You go this way.

Go go going to the bootheel to work, an Ag Cat cropduster. He said it was cool at 6,000 feet. I don't believe him. It isn't cool anywhere today!
