19 April, 2011 -- Before the storm

Before the storm, I went for a walk around the pond.
Kermit eyed me, splashed away. It was quiet. Then the wind came up.

Incoming cold front.

17 April, 2011 -- Chomp chomp chomp

Looks like some nightmare chomper bug coming for us!
Landed on the runway,
made some hasty repairs, then...
lifted off and came right at the house... dragonfly chomp chomp CHOMP
Hmmm, crunchy on
the outside, soft in the middle...
We didn't look tasty enough,
so it just chomp chomp chomp went away chomp chomp chomp.

26 March, 2011 -- Spring! ... or not

It's supposed to be spring...
by daylight,
or by streetlight.
It didn't look like spring in Jeff City today!

21 March, 2011 - Oh, those spring chores!

Dipped a spade into the compost pile, and ... oh, boy! worms!
Caught one medium sized bluegill, that's all. Must be still too
early for a feeding frenzy. Let him swim away to grow up.

And thanks, LAD, for all those snagger "submarines" you tossed into
the pond last month.

14 March, 2011 -- Red & white, blue & gray

Snowed late this afternoon... that didn't stop the Reds from
getting their share of a feeder full of corn & seed.

Returning from northern MO a few days ago,
came over Lake of the Ozarks, and saw these
boat wakes.

8 March, 2011 -- Strollers

These jakes spent about two hours strolling in the neighbor's pasture,
lunching and just mall-walking.

This mob was milling around and showing off by the runway a few days ago,
and just faded away over the hill when I turned the airplane around.

4 March, 2011 -- Light show

Big 'un crashed right outside my window, but by the time
I had the camera set up, it was mostly gone, just some
cloud to cloud flashes.
The star is a yard light, the other "ufo" lights are water drops
on the lens.

These were blooming at the EAA hangar in Willow Springs.
