To Las Vegas

Not on the Wright Flyer, though.
To see my cousin and sister, and maybe get rich. :)

10 Nov., 2009 -- Springfield

I went to an FAA Safety Seminar this evening in Springfield, and
there was a discussion about the new Branson Airport, and safety regarding
its proximity to Harrison and Point Lookout, and the radar coverage, etc.
When I made my airline reservations to Vegas last week, the booking service referred
to Branson as BKG. However, the official FAA identifier is BBG. It seems
that there is an airport on a tiny island out in the Pacific near Hawaii that
already has BBG, so for airline booking purposes, Branson is known as BKG.
I don't know of any other airport that has two identifiers. Huh.

Made a short trip through Bass Pro, there is a lot of remodeling going on inside, getting ready for Christmas, probably. Didn't seem to bother the fishies, nor the ducks or turtles.

Hey, Grant! Here's your street...

9 Nov., 2009 -- Pilot/navigator - headed home

Pilot/navigator, complete with chocolate pudding. Sunday afternoon.

Sunday, Cam and I and Bugs and Taz flew back to Jefferson City, and it was so smooth! Much better than the other two days we went flying. Shucks, Cam had to go back to schoolin'.

Found this during this afternoon's exploring trip with the kitties.
About five feet long!

Hey, isn't this November?

7 Nov., 2009 -- Airplane day

The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1218 hangar
in Willow Springs hosted about 15 Boy Scouts working on
their Aviation Merit Badges. They came from all over the
Ozarks for classroom work, the flight simulator, and to rub
elbows with "real pilots".

During pot luck breakfast - some things are more important
than airplanes.

And we always have to do the official business meeting.

Now, back to the fun stuff!

Cam commandeered my Canon SD600 today, and shot everything!

Cam saw the poster and yelled "Hey, my Mom works for Modot!"

Of all his photos, this one is his favorite. Donuts! Donuts!

Second place for favorite was Cleco.

Oooh, new logbook! I think he's hooked on flying.
He wanted another flight this afternoon. But.....
Aw, shucks... gotta finish homework! And it's SATURDAY!

Didja bring me any leftover bacon? huh? didja? huh?
I smell bacon, didja bring me some, huh?

6 Nov., 2009 -- Wow! Look at THAT!

The C130 landed as Cam and I prepped the Archer for the trip back from
Jefferson City to Mtn. Grove this morning.
We watched the last of the Hueys start up, testing and hovering.

Look out, little guys, I'm biggern y'all. Yummy, crunchy outside, soft inside!

I guess this is why they call him "Fat Albert".

We finally took off, climbed out above the turbulence, and did some
sightseeing around Jeff City.

Corn maze just off the southeast end of the airport.

Cam did some of the piloting on the way home!
