31 May, 2010 -- May or may not

Bill and Laurie started back to Michigan, turned around and came
back to MG. They may or may not go back in the Lance for awhile.
Troubleshooting the oil pressure problem, Randy runs up
the engine while Lloyd and Bill ponder.
Classic thunderhead off to the east changed colors as the sun set.

The thunderhead faded into the darkness,
and May faded away with it.
30 May, 2010 -- Grant's family vacation, 1 and 2

It's Sunday night, Comfort Inn in Twin Falls, ID.
We have seen so much, well, the ones with their heads up looking around have, anyway.
Yesterday we went thru most of Nebraska, pretty, and stayed in Kimball, NE.

Today, we crossed over into Wyoming and took a scenic route that cost us about 2 extra hours on the day, but it was worth it. The pass had JUST opened, they had just plowed away the snow from the route.
The rest of Wyoming was scrub brush and some mountains in the distance and rolling hills, but mostly flat. We took I80.
Utah was pretty, mountains, Salt Lake from a distance, finally found a spoon (collectible). Idaho stinks... literally.
Idaho, Oregon and Washington tomorrow. We're staying in Sequim, WA.

Ralph, Samantha and Cameron in the outdoor photos.
In the interior photos, everyone has a weird traveling syndrome: Grant with alien-eye, Dev with paws-book, Cam with Spock-ears, Samantha with ring-arm, Ralph with PB-thumb (I hope that's peanut butter!).

29 May, 3010 -- It's work

Randy made a spray run in the Ag Husky yesterday morning,
and I made a flight to take some aerial photos.
It's more work than you think. Washing the airplane after being
hangared for two months, covered with pollen and kitty tracks.
It's work. Especially underneath!

Tomato leaves have a curious yellowing pattern, I've never
seen them do this.

27 May, 2010 -- More flying "what's it" things

Fireflies again tonight. These are all after dark, time exposures, by moonlight.
Should have done a "What's-it", huh?

26 May, 2010 -- Fireflies

There was lightning storm to the west, and to the north, and the fireflies were dancing out in the hay field. They are those little green specks in the foreground. The sky was clear with Venus in the western sky. Couldn't fit in the almost-full moon. These were time exposures, 30 to 40 seconds, that's why they are a little blurry. Didn't use a tripod, just braced the camera on the deck railing and guessed at the focus. Then kitty kept bumping into me, meeeooow, pay attention to meeee.

24 May, 2010 -- Rained a year ago, too

My yard ornaments... LAD has a bumblebee, I've got a ladybug.

After a brief thunderstorm this afternoon, there was a partial rainbow. I tried to get it to flow into my potato garden but it didn't reach. Oh, well, it was pretty, anyway.
23 May, 2010 -- Eye see you

Stinker, the stray... he's growing fast, like the weeds around the house!

Eye see you!
Fonda and LAD and friend Janice were heading home from a weekend in Branson, Randy and I drove to Springfield to meet up for breakfast. Our stray kitty Stinker romped just before dark. Those would be good eyes to magnify!
