July 9, 2015 -- Glub glub glub

Two inches of rain today, one inch poured down in a half hour at 3:30 pm. Then the fog moved in after "sunset", and it rained some more. An interviewee on TV tonight said "This is as worse as it gets". She looked intelligent, but, duh.
The pond is running over, can't see it under the grass on the right. Good thing, because it's almost over the bank. It hasn't been this high in a couple of years.
The summer of 1966 that Allen was in basic and AIT training at Ft. Leonard Wood, it was very dry and hot. Cindy and I weighted a thermometer and dropped it to the bottom of the island pond. When we brought it up, at the surface it was reading over 90 degrees. We've hit 90 maybe once this summer. That will change when the sun shines again, this weekend.

June 28, 2015 -- Almost a monochrome sunset

Almost a monochrome sunset. Thunderstorm approaching from the north this evening, strange direction for incoming weather.

April 18, 2015 -- The challenge

Fonda challenged: did ya find any 4-leaf clovers on the dandelion hunt?
Answer: we looked, but only found 3-leaf-ers.
Stinker, the hunter, interfered. Flat Lad got beat up a little bit.

17 April, 2015 -- Rain, rain... keep it up!

Our favorite flowers! Three spring things, for sure... taxes (done), drought (please keep raining!), and dandelions.
Happy birthday, Randy! April 16th.

March 24, 2015 -- Sky on fire

One lucky time exposure before it got dark.

An hour, over 200 time exposures.

March 10, 2015 -- SUN!

After several days of overcast skies and rain, late this afternoon the cloud decks drifted off to the east and the sun shined for about an hour. Later, advection fog formed at ground level, and it was kind of spooky with the security lights in the distance outlining barns and houses. Then the fog took over and blanked out the stars. It will be dense in the morning. Still have mud, but most of the snow is gone.

March 1, 2015 -- In like a lion, waging war. Snow. Rain. Snow. Rain. Snow. Rain. etc.

I thought there was a war going on this afternoon! The snow and ice were melting off the garage roof, banging into the siding like gunshots, and crashing like glass in heaps.

It was war, I tell you!
He's TOUCHING me!!!

And they waged their little war.
